How does ITAD Africa ensure data security during decommissioning?
Every project is conducted under a strict chain-of-custody protocol. All assets are logged, tracked, and securely transported. Devices containing data are either sanitised using NIST 800-88 compliant erasure or physically destroyed, depending on client preference and classification level.
Will there be downtime or disruption during the process?
Our team plans and executes decommissioning projects to minimise operational impact. We coordinate with your IT staff to schedule power-downs, equipment removal, and logistics outside of critical working hours wherever possible.
What documentation will we receive after decommissioning?
Upon completion, you’ll receive a full Decommissioning Report including:
- Certificates of Environmental Clearance and Destruction
- Chain-of-Custody Logs

Yes. Our personnel are security-cleared to operate at National Key Points, and we adhere to POPIA, GDPR, and ISO 27001 standards. Live CCTV feeds and onsite supervision are available for full transparency.

All collected assets undergo assessment for reuse, refurbishment, or certified recycling at our depots. Nothing is sent to landfill ensuring full environmental and legislative compliance under NEM:WA and ISO 14001.
Do you offer cross-border or regional support?
Yes. ITAD Africa operates nationwide across South Africa and through verified partner facilities in select African countries, enabling compliant, traceable decommissioning beyond local borders.
